Sharing Energy in the Independent Energy Village
A training on biogas operation, maintenance, and safety was held on August 14, 2024, at the Bangko Jaya Village, Bangko Pusako District, Rokan Hilir Regency. This training was attended by 50 people consisting of biogas users from the Independent Energy Village (DEB) program, Karang Taruna, Posyandu Cadres, Village & District Governments, the Rokan Hilir Regency Environmental Service (DLH), and representatives of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PT PHR).
The training aims to provide knowledge and expertise on operating procedures, maintenance, safety, and security standards for biogas users. On that occasion, participants also received training on biogas dregs (bio-slurry) for agriculture. In addition, one important aspect of the training is safety, which is guided by the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team of PT PHR.
The Bangko Jaya Village Administrator, Suhardi, views collaboration as playing a key role in environmental management through biogas. Meanwhile, the Head of the Health Center, Dr. Novita Saragih, stated that the presence of biogas can help efforts to combat stunting, “The whole village overcomes stunting with biogas, by utilizing biogas dregs for vegetables can be PMT (Additional Food Provision) in integrated health post activities,” said Dr. Novita.
Sumardi, one of the biogas users, said that after participating in the training, he felt enthusiastic about utilizing bio-slurry, “After receiving this training, I will try to implement it, especially utilizing bio-slurry as fertilizer in oil palm plants,” said Sumardi.
