Young People in Rokan Hilir Implement Financial Literacy for a Better Future

Rokan Hilir, Riau – Young people in Rokan Hilir Regency have begun implementing financial literacy after participating in training held by Pertamina Hulu Rokan and Rumah Energi. The training took place on February 26, 2025, in Bangko Jaya Village, and was attended by 32 young people from Bangko Jaya Village and Bangko Permata Village. 

This training aims to improve participants’ understanding of financial management, budgeting, and business planning. Nurul Munawaroh, Rumah Energi’s Micro-Finance Officer, was the main facilitator in the training initiated by PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PT PHR) and Rumah Energi, as part of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. Participants consisted of local village youth who were interested in learning and implementing financial literacy in their lives. 

The training is expected to change the mindset of young people in managing finances, especially in several aspects such as preparing personal and business budgets effectively, understanding the importance of long-term financial planning, and starting a small business that is by the village’s potential. With the provision that has been provided including Green Jobs training in the previous series of training, participants are expected to be able to express innovative ideas that can be implemented. 

Citra Ayudia, one of the participants, said that the series of training she had attended was very useful for her in learning more about financial literacy. 

“This training is very useful for me who plans to open a business shortly. I understand better how to manage business finances, make budget projections, and find the right capital.” 

The training is expected to be the first step for participants to build financial independence and contribute to village progress.
