To boost the community’s economy, Rumah Energi believes in mentoring and strengthening the capacity of entrepreneurship, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and cooperatives to support the national economy. Rumah Energi also realizes that the high participation of women in the movement of the country’s economic value is essential for its full support.

SCORE Project

Farmer group incubation program to develop compost business by mobilizing supply and demand aspects together with periodic mentoring, and a series of basic entrepreneurship training and facilitation of meetings with key stakeholders to create a compost business market in Pringsewu Regency and Pesawaran Regency, Lampung.

  • 56.25% of beneficiaries received additional income from compost sales
  • 73.75% of beneficiaries saved on fertilizer purchases and used their own compost.
  • 50% of beneficiaries are female farmers, they have increased their business knowledge and composting skills 
  • 1-23.3 tons of their own compost as a substitute for chemical fertilizers that are safer for the environment and improve soil conditions

Puan Inspiratif

The COVID-19 pandemic that has attacked has not dampened our enthusiasm in supporting women entrepreneurs’ businesses. In 2021, Rumah Energi held training for women entrepreneurs ‘Puan Inspiratif‘ which was carried out in 2 batches, in April 2021 and August 2021. Puan Inspiratif is an empowerment program for women entrepreneurs who are starting their businesses through a gender equality approach.

  • 23 MSMEs received a series of training on the Gender Action Learning System (GALS), Financial Action Learning System (FALS), Gender Mainstreaming, Financial Management, and Digital Business and Management.

Pro Women

Based on BPS data in 2021, women manage 64.5 percent of the total MSMEs in Indonesia, or around 37 million MSMEs with a projection of a total value of USD 135 billion in 2025. The Pro Women program incubates women’s MSME businesses in Lombok, NTB. This initiative, pioneered by Rumah Energi and the Social Enterprise Platform (PLUS) through support from the Ford Foundation, targets 47 selected women entrepreneurs to receive empowerment and mentoring.

  • Build an information and networking center for entrepreneurs in Indonesia, and integrate it with social media for wider community reach

Commercial Pig Farming in East Nusa Tenggara

Community economic empowerment through commercial pig farming to improve the livelihoods and incomes of communities in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region, especially on Sumba Island. This program is implemented by increasing community participation in more profitable pig farming activities through animal husbandry, and livestock sales, increasing the capacity of livestock feed suppliers, and helping cattle farmers to access loan facilities at financial institutions.
