Yayasan Rumah Energi (YRE) collaborates with the Joint Operating Body Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori (JOB Tomori) in order to improve community welfare through the management of potential organic waste and the development of organic fertilizers with biogas technology in Sumber Harjo Village, Moilong District, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi.
This program has succeeded in building twenty units of 4m3 household-scale biogas reactors which are present as physical infrastructure in two villages. Since biogas began to be used by beneficiaries, households using biogas are now optimally utilizing the energy produced from biogas and processing bio-slurry. The inauguration of the biogas demonstration plot took place on July 17, 2019 in Sumber Harjo Village, Moilong District, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi.
In this program, biogas waste (bio-slurry) is used as natural fertilizer. The activity initiated by JOB Tomori is the initial capital to break the chain of dependence of farmers through independent fertilizer management and other derivative activities to improve the subsistence standard of living of the Sumber Harjo village community, as well as encourage synergy and collaborative efforts of the parties to encourage the creation of productive economic areas through conservation, sustainable energy and environment. Referring to the bio-slurry potential development activities carried out by YRE within the framework of the BIRU (House Biogas) program, several options for developing bio-slurry-based family productive business activities that have been running and tested include developing a productive business selling bio-slurry as a source of energy. commodity fertilizers (dry/liquid) and vermicomposting as raw materials for high-quality natural fertilizers.
