Program TERANG (The Investing in Renewable Energy for Rural, Remote Communities)
Through the TERANG Program, Rumah Energi encourages the construction of 2,221 housing biogas units in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sumba-Nusa Timur Timur, and South Sulawesi aiming for services and investment opportunities in each region. The program is designed to stimulate local economic development through increased use of renewable energy.
In the Sumba region, Rumah Energi played a role in the installation of 25 solar systems in schools, 25 of the same installations in community kiosks, and 50 agricultural processing machines (corn shellers) were installed in farm houses that provided pipil services. Rumah Energi also played a role in forming a RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) unit whose business model could be adopted by other RESCOs to encourage the sustainability of renewable energy installations.
